This is the best of Honduras combining elements of ancient Mayan Culture, pristine cloud forests, and the Caribbean north coast to give the richest mix of Honduras birding. Boasting over 650 of Honduras’ 760+ bird species, our route begins among tropical dry/ pine forests at Mayan city of Copan, and moves across wetlands and rainforests of Lake Yojoa, Cerro Azul, and Santa Barbara National Parks (including an area known for the country’s endemic Honduran Emerald). From there, we ascend to 2,000 meter cloud forests of Opatroro Biological Reserve and La Tigra National Parks, before turning north to the lush rainforests and white-sand beaches of Punta Sal, Pico Bonito National Park, and the Caribbean north coast.
